Q & A with The Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo and Stratford Perth

Q: Should I brush my pet’s teeth?

A: Providing home dental care is one of the best ways to keep your dog’s mouth healthy.  Brushing daily, or even a few times a week, can help to keep teeth and gums in healthy condition, and avoid plaque and tartar buildup.  It’s best to start when they’re young to get them used to the brushing process. You can use a moistened dog toothbrush, finger toothbrush or a soft children’s toothbrush, along with pet toothpaste – never use human toothpaste, baking soda or salt.
