It is all about community.
On Saturday August 24th, 4-7pm, my constituency office will be hosting a community BBQ at Sir Adam Beck’s Community Park in Baden, Ontario for the constituents of Kitchener-Conestoga and residents of Waterloo Region. This will be a free event for the whole family to enjoy a burger, corn, ice cream, and all the tastes and smells of the summer.
More importantly, it will be a great opportunity to re-connect and share your thoughts with me on this government’s first year in office. We have done our best to communicate our accomplishments to you through the Rural Post and other local newspapers, social media, and direct newsletter mail-outs; however, nothing tops one on one personal conversations near the barbeque.
If you can’t join us on the 24th, please say ‘hello’ at one of our riding’s great annual events I will be attending this summer and fall. This includes the Williamsburg Community Festival, New Hamburg Fall Fair, Wellesley Fall Fair, and the Wellesley Apple Butter Cheese Festival just to name a few.
I have already spoken to a number of local residents this year outside the office at the Elmira Maple Syrup Festival, New Dundee Victoria Day Parade, Wellesley Township Community BBQ, and at Canada Day festivities in Elmira, Maryhill, and New Hamburg.
Surprisingly, a lot of these conversations have little to do with a particular government policy on health care or an infrastructure announcement, but rather the everyday frustrations of individuals interacting with the provincial government, including obtaining a government ID or a small business owner who is dealing with time-consuming red-tape. Whatever it is, I am hear to help.
I hope to see you on the 24th and at future events in the community.
